Blog Week #14

 

Moo in , My name is Maria and I am a Criminal Justice & Sociology major!, my career idea would be to

 become a juvenile officer helping those find their way in a positive way! , police officer, or state trooper

 for Rhode Island or Massachusetts does not matter to me , I believe in making world peace and helping

 my community. After taking a Youth development major course here at  Rhode Island college I can

 honestly say how much I learned while taking this course, and see we can make an impact with the youth.

 This community helps foster a learning environment for students who feel connected and supportive

 throughout their journey in the major.

Youth development is an interdisciplinary major for undergraduates interested in working with youth outside of the classroom. This program focuses on anchors such as play, care, identity, social justice, and leading with. It aims to create a supportive community where students and professors take care of each other’s learning and support sets it apart from other education majors at RIC, providing students with a unique and enriching educational experience. This community is built on the foundation of students and professors supporting each other and taking care of each other’s learning. This sense of community fosters a supportive learning environment, where students can feel connected and supported throughout their journey in the major!
